Sam's bike--review

Sam's bike arrived! I had to laugh remembering the days when I got chocolate and flowers for Valentine's. This is so much better!

There's no getting around that Sam's bike is pricey. BUT it also appears to be very sturdy and well-built, no corners cut on quality. I think it should be able to stand up to a lot of real play. It's also, imo, a great collector's piece.

I'm still wondering, though, why Sam and Kit got great new items, Molly just got a pair of roller skates, which she already had, and the rest got nothing.

Someone here suggested a hoop and stick for Felicity. I think I'll try making that. It shouldn't be too hard with a small embroidery hoop and a dowel.

Thanks for the review. I was thinking about getting Sams bike. I'm glad you liked it. I agree that Molly didn't get anything good like Kit and Samantha. THey need to get Josefina and Addy and Kirsten more outfits too. It's like they forgot about them although they came out with a new book for josefina. They still seem forgotten.

Thank you for the review! I am so relieved to hear that you are happy with the bicycle's quality. I was a little afraid that it would have the hefty price tag without the good quality to back it up. I'm glad to hear that's not the case!

I'm curious to know, though, what are the handlebar endcaps and the seat made out of? They look like they're rubbery... ?

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">If they're rubber, it's a very hard rubber. They don't have any "give" to them. OTOH, the tires are definitely a soft rubber or something like that.

BTW, since I posted my review, I've noticed that the very prominent smell the bike had coming out of the box has not gone away. The odor is now noticeable throughout my dollroom, so much so that I've put the bike out on the deck to air for a few hours.

I don't recall ever getting a smelly AG item before, so this is a surprise.

I wonder why they didn't re-issue Molly's bike. It wouldn't have been new, but still fun. I agree, the other girls should have gotten something.

Thanks for the review. I'm glad to hear the bike is well-made. I agre--I can't figure out the deal on Molly's skates. She already has them in her Party Games set. They just changed the strap color. Maybe they were planning to introduce a new bicycle for her and something happened with the production of them and they weren't available in thime for the spring release. I'm hoping one will come out later if/when she gets a movie.

Yeah, I'm sure Molly will get several new items when it gets a little closer to movie time, like they did with Felicity.
